Palm Springs has a wave of hip restaurants you can’t miss on your next trip!
Tlaquepaque– Eclectic mariachi music welcomes you in as you grab a 1980’s barrel chair at the table. The homemade chips and salsa come to your table less than a minute from sitting down. The servers ask, “The usual? Burrito pequeno, pozole, taco plate, and a bohemia?” With so many Mexican restaurants in Palm Springs, Taqueria Tlaquepaque has made a name for itself due to its homage to traditional Mexican food.
- Real Italian Deli– While at the park, don’t forget your sandwiches. The best deli in town is the Real Italian Deli. Yes, the restaurant does live up to its name. You will find a taste of Italy in the middle of the desert. The menu often changes, but arguably the best sandwich is the turkey pesto. The baguette and pesto are made fresh in the morning. The baguette is so soft that you don’t need to bite hard to tear the bread apart. The bread simply dissolves in your mouth.
- PS Air/Bouschet– Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly in first class sipping on bubbly? One of the most underrated bars in Palm Springs is PS Air. The bar is in a speakeasy inside a wine bar called Bouschet. You walk inside and you are immediately transported into a plane. The servers are decked in their flight attendant outfits and greet you with a smile while walking you down the flight aisle to your seat. If you arrive at off peak hours, you’ll likely find some opening in the first-class section.
- Paul Bar– You go to a strip mall and the restaurant name says Bar/Food. This is the type of place that one would overlook but that’s the irony and why Paul O’Halloran named it. On any given night be expected to wait to get a seat, unless you show up promptly at 5pm. Inside you’ll find plush bar stools, dimly lit lights, and a massive mahogany bar fitted with a plethora of hard alcohol and wine.
- Bar Cecil– Reservations are difficult to come by and online reservations are blocked off a month in advance. This vibrant trendy restaurant is founded by the owners of The Holiday House and Sparrows Lodge. The decadent décor and mouth watering food is well worth the wait. The bread rolls and onion tart are popular by demand. Go early.
